If it's good enough for doctors, it's good enough for liars

At a seminar put on by the Australian Vaccination Network, I received a booklet which contained the following suggestion for something that parents should get doctors to sign.

So when can we expect to see the anti-vaccination liars offering to sign something similar? After all, they know that vaccines are dangerous and that the diseases that vaccines prevent are harmless.

I (anti-vaccinationist's name) ..................................................................... ....... Do hereby state that I have advised the parent(s) of (child's name) ................................................................. ...... That in my UNprofessional opinion as a member of the anti-vaccine movement, the child should not be given any vaccine whatsoever. I have this day (date)................... convinced them to withhold all vaccination from their child after advising them that their child is at great risk from the treatment, and at little or no risk from any vaccine-preventable disease. I hereby do agree that should the child at any time contract any vaccine-preventable disease, and/or suffer any deleterious or injurious consequences of a vaccine-preventable disease, then I will pay any and all costs relating to the care and treatment of this child for the rest of its natural life. I further agree that if my earnings are insufficient to meet these costs, I will sell my home, my business and all my material possessions to put the proceeds towards meeting those costs.

Signature of Anti-Vaccinationist....................... Witness:.....................

I expect that we will be waiting a very long time.

(Thank you to Jennie Louise from the Australian Skeptics for the suggested rewrite of the indemnity form. I wish I had thought of it first.)
