Someone threatens to sue!
I listed the site above in May 2002. The owner of the site was not pleased, and on August 16, 2002, I received the following emails, plus a message on my voice mail telling me that I was facing legal action. It puzzles me that someone believes in something enough to make a web site about it, but doesn't believe in it enough to tolerate even the slightest criticism. I was also surprised at how the matter escalated from providing extra information through calling me ignorant to threatening legal action over such a short period. On 10 December, 2002, the High Court of Australia announced a decision which allowed an Australian resident to sue in a Victorian court for an alleged defamation in material published on a web site in the United States. Despite the fact that this decision has no relevance to any matter between Mr Boek and myself (we are both residents of Australia and the court ruling was about transnational litigation), it inspired Mr Boek to rush to his keyboard and send me the following emails. I should point out that when Mr Boek published my name, address and telephone numbers to several Usenet newsgroups he was acting in violation of the Terms of Use of his Internet service provider. If I were the vindictive kind, I could have his account and web site closed. But I won't.
