Carl Dixon

Carl Dixon is a self-taught Houston folk artist. He carves his images into wood and then paints the wood. Carl was struck with cancer in his early thirties, a traumatic period in which he became very religious. Carl believes that God gave him his natural, untrained, talent to spread the word. Besides his religious subjects, he also creates work about the civil rights movement and portraits (mainly of musicians)

Martin Luther King Jr

Coretta Scott King
