I had asked Mr O'Neill for a correct citation of a court case that did not appear to be in the records of the NSW court system, and also to fax to me a document bearing my signature that he claimed he possessed. Information about the case (actually Rindos v Hardwick) can be found here.

This was Mr O'Neill's response to my request for further information about a court case and other doubtful matters.

At this point I asked Mr O'Neill to provide me with the following pieces of information, all of which he had mentioned in the previous few days:

Evidence of the existence of the "general division of the nsw court"
Evidence that an action has been commenced in said court against me and my ISP for libel, slander, defamation, breach of copyright and trademark infringement
A correct citation of a court judgement, "Rindo vs Harwicke", which banned someone from using a computer for five years
A faxed copy of a certified, verified document containing my signature and showing that I own a web site at https://ratbags.com
Details of my criminal record
Information supporting the suggestion that I am a child abuser
A list of my clients
A list of my suppliers
Evidence that I have at some time been "flushed" by the ISP Telstra Big Pond (or any other ISP)
Evidence that any Australian government department or authority, either state or federal, is concerned in any way with what I do on the Internet

There was a power problem at the hosting ISP, and this site (along with many others) was off the air for a short period while the servers were restarted and checked.

Mr O'Neill sent me a fax containing the following. You can see a copy of the fax here. My comments about it are on that page.

In the event these materials remain on the site in question, and/or any site owned, operated or authored by Mr. Peter Bowditch and/or Gebesse Holdings Pty Ltd., or any other entity having association with any of the foregoing, after the close of business on September27, 2000, Canadian and Australian attorneys, acting on behalf of the Canadian Cancer Research Group, have instruction to initiate all avenues of civil and criminal complaint.

I obviously have to keep repeating myself. In the absence of a court order from a court with jurisdiction in the state of New South Wales, Australia, I will not remove anything from this site unless I want it removed.

I hoped it wasn't someone playing a cruel April Fool's joke when I saw this news in the Ottawa Citizen on April 1.

Yes, folks, the beloved William P O'Neill of the Canadian Cancer Research Group and its descendants has gone to the great cesspit in the sky, taking the Gutless Anonymous Liar with him. Sadly, he died quickly and not of cancer. I posted a message to his memorial guest book, but unfortunately some technical glitch prevented it from being published.

I will maintain my own memorial to him here by archiving his correspondence with me and also the wonderful messages he sent wearing his Gutless Anonymous Liar mask. It would be a tragedy for this valuable collection of literature to disappear.
